Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission

The Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission is a convening body established to deliver part of Dame Tessa Jowell’s legacy. The mission consists of passionate academics, doctors, members of cancer charities, patients, and other individuals to help facilitate a new national research strategy for brain tumours. OVID led the communications and strategy for a programme of work that will see ‘Centres of Excellence’ rolled out across the country in brain cancer. Other programmes include the emerging data and technology programme, and the Tessa Jowell Badges for Neurocentres, which will be tasked with defining best practice patient care, clinical trial opportunities and research activity.

This has involved extensively collaborating with and working alongside clinicians, commissioners, the Government and NHS managers to secure buy-in from all stakeholder groups – alongside high-level life sciences key opinion leaders from industry and the civil service.
