OVID Health appoints ex-GSK Comms Director in boost to senior team

Rachel Gonzaga, a former global communications director for GSK, has been appointed Associate Director at healthcare communications agency OVID.

Rachel joins OVID Health from GSK, where she led global communications for the inhaled respiratory medicines team. An experienced and well-respected pharma PR leader, she is also a former UK Communications Director for GSK.

Her background is in science communications and oncology, having previously been a Science Press Manager for Cancer Research UK and worked for Nature publishing group. Rachel’s focus in her new role at OVID will be leading their pharmaceutical PR and corporate communications offer.

OVID Health was founded in 2018 by ex-Lib Dem health adviser and agency leader Jenny Ousbey. They are a specialist healthcare comms agency delivering public affairs, PR, patient advocacy and campaigns. OVID are also the creators of industry initiative, the Patient Partnership Index.

In the past year the agency has achieved six-figure growth and won numerous industry awards – including a nomination for New Consultancy of the Year in the PR Week Awards 2020.

The agency’s recent client work includes supporting Future Care Capital to launch a new investment fund for innovative health start-up companies; advising an NHS organisation on a crisis communications brief; and supporting client MedCity to launch Unleashing Innovation – London Life Science’s fight against COVID-19.
